Getting Started
How Azcarte is organised
The five levels behind every Azcarte menu — restaurant, location, menu, section and product — and where each one is edited.
How Azcarte is organised
Before you start adding dishes, it helps to know how the pieces fit together. Everything in Azcarte hangs off five levels.
| Level | What it is | Where you edit it |
|---|---|---|
| Restaurant | Your business. If you run more than one, you switch between them from Account → Switch restaurant. | Account |
| Location | A physical address. Opening hours, cover photo, phone and city live here. | Location settings |
| Menu | A collection of dishes — "Lunch", "Drinks", "Winter menu". A location can have several. | Home |
| Section | A category inside a menu — "Starters", "Mains", "Desserts". | Menu tab |
| Product | A single dish or drink, with its price, photos, variants and add-ons. | Inside a section |
Most of your day-to-day work happens at the section and product level. The levels
above them are usually set up once and left alone.
The four tabs at the bottom
The manager is built for a phone, so everything is reachable from four tabs:
- Home — pick the menu you are working on, publish it, and see your setup checklist.
- Menu — your sections and the products inside them.
- QR Code — create and download the codes guests scan.
- Account — your profile, interface language, restaurant switcher and support.
The active menu
Azcarte always works on one active menu at a time. You choose it on Home, and the Menu and QR Code tabs then show that menu's sections and codes.
If a page tells you "No menu selected", go back to Home and tap a menu to make it active.
Draft and published
A new menu starts as a Draft — you can build it in peace and guests will not see it. When it is ready, tap Publish menu on Home. You can always go back with Move to draft.
A QR code pointing at a draft menu will not show your dishes to guests. Publish the menu
before you print anything.
